Boat Storage

Every package includes 7 Months Secure Lot Storage, Professional Ventilated Shrink-Wrap, full Battery & Cover Storage  Multi-Point Engine Winterization & L.O.F. Service,  Computer Engine Diagnostics performed on-site by certified marine technicians. 

• Inboard / Sterndrive (I/O) Service (2-Hour Detailed Service): 
  • Drain engine block and manifolds completely.
  • Flush and fill all plumbing and cooling lines with non-toxic marine anti-freeze.
  • Full engine oil and filter change (L.O.F.) 
  • Drain and refill lower gear unit oil with fresh gaskets and seals .
  • Grease gimbal bearing, U-joints, and outdrive pivot fittings.
  • Replace associated fuel filters and treat the fuel system with marine fuel stabilizer.

           Outboard Winterization Service (1.5- Hour Service)

              Full engine oil and filter change (L.O.F.) 

• Drain and refill lower end gear lube with new drain plug gaskets 
• Run non-toxic marine anti-freeze through all onboard plumbing lines and livewells
• Replace all fuel filters/water separators and oil filters .
• Add fuel stabilizer to prevent ethanol phase separation over winter 
• Lubricate all engine pivot points and apply marine corrosion guard to powerhead and tilt/trim components 

 Facility Policies & Drop-Off Requirements 

• Haulage & Delivery: Customers are responsible for arranging transportation of their boat to and from our Niagara-on-the-Lake facility (Boats Niagara does not provide transport).
• Blocking & Stands: Customers must supply their own stands/blocking, or purchase them directly through our parts counter upon drop-off.
• Insurance & Property: All vessels stored on the property must carry independent liability and comprehensive hull insurance.
• No Outside Work: No self-service mechanical or detailing work is permitted in the yard.

     Complimentary Value-Add Services Included with Every Package:

1. Battery Care & Safe Storage: Batteries are removed, tested with a digital load tester, and photographed with pass/fail documentation. Tested batteries are tagged with the customer's name and stored indoors in our climate-protected parts bay.
2. Cover Care & Storage: Summer cockpit and mooring covers are carefully removed, checked to ensure they are 100% dry, bagged, labeled with the customer's name, and stored indoors on dedicated racking.
3. Computer Diagnostic Scan: Electronic scan of the engine ECU/ECM to check and record all historic fault codes, current operating parameters, and verified run hours 
4. Mercury Factory TSB & Recall Check: For Mercury engines, we check the Mercury Marine dealer network for any open Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), safety campaigns, or factory recalls to ensure your motor stays up to date under warranty

Important Mandatory Inboard/Sterndrive Policy: Drain Plugs & Spring Recommissioning

PLEASE NOTE FOR ALL INBOARD & STERNDRIVE (I/O) VESSELS: To protect your engine block and manifolds against freeze cracks during harsh Canadian winters, all brass and composite drain plugs are removed during winterization and safely packaged inside your vessel.

Drain plugs and cooling hoses MUST be reinstalled and torqued before starting or launching your boat.

• On-Site Stored Vessels: Because your boat is stored on our premises, owners must book our Spring Recommissioning Service ($249.99) prior to pickup or launching. Our certified technicians will un-wrap the vessel, reinstall all engine and manifold drain plugs to factory specs, reconnect batteries, and test-run the cooling and fuel systems on shop water to guarantee leak-free operation.
• Self-Install / Off-Site Waiver: If you decline the $249.99 spring recommissioning, you assume 100% legal and mechanical responsibility for reinstalling all drain plugs, inspecting cooling lines, and checking for leaks prior to operation. Boats Niagara accepts no liability for freeze damage, overheating, or water ingestion from uninstalled plugs.
